Toilet Repair From Your Neighbors in East Canton
K & K Plumbing is based on Hillvale Street in East Canton, so a toilet call here is about as local as it gets. We provide toilet repair in East Canton and the surrounding Osnaburg Township area, from quick tank fixes to complete replacements, and we can help with emergency leak containment when a bathroom is taking on water.
First Steps When a Toilet Overflows
An overflowing toilet is stressful, but the first few moves are simple and can save your floors. Do these before you call, or while you wait for us.
- Lift the tank lid and press the flapper down to stop more water entering the bowl
- Turn the shutoff valve behind the toilet clockwise until it stops
- If that valve will not move, shut off the main water valve where the line enters the house
- Soak up standing water with towels so it does not seep under flooring or into the ceiling below
- Do not keep flushing; a second flush on a clogged toilet adds more water
- If you are on a septic system and several drains are backing up, stop using water everywhere
A Shutoff Valve You Can Trust
Many of the urgent calls we get start with a shutoff valve that will not turn. Older multi-turn valves seize after years of sitting open, and forcing them can snap the stem or start a new leak. When we repair or replace a toilet, we check that valve and swap it for a quarter-turn shutoff if it is stuck or weeping.
We also replace old plastic or chrome supply tubes with braided stainless lines. A burst supply line under pressure can flood a bathroom quickly, so this is a small upgrade that heads off a big mess.

Toilets and Septic Systems in Osnaburg Township
Homes in the village are generally on public sewer, but many rural properties around East Canton use septic systems. A toilet on septic has a few extra concerns. Wipes, paper towels and feminine products do not break down in the tank and can clog the outlet or the drain field. Bleach tablets in the toilet tank can also affect the bacteria a septic system depends on.
Modern low-flow toilets work well with septic systems because they send less water into the tank with each flush. If you are replacing an older high-volume toilet, a current model can ease the load on the system. When a toilet and other drains back up together, the problem may be the septic tank or the line to it, which calls for a different kind of fix.
Repairs and Replacements, Start to Finish
Whether it is a running tank, a loose bowl or a full replacement, the process is the same. You reach out for a free estimate, we explain what we found and what it will take, and you approve the work before we begin. After the repair or installation, we do a quality inspection with test flushes and a leak check at the valve, tank and base.
If the toilet is just one piece of a tired bathroom, our East Canton bathroom remodeling work can update the rest of the plumbing too. Slow drains elsewhere in the house can be handled by our drain clearing service in East Canton.

Frequently Asked Questions
My toilet is overflowing right now. What do I do?
Push the flapper down inside the tank, then turn the shutoff valve behind the toilet clockwise. If it will not turn, shut the main water valve. Then call us at 330-875-8003.
The valve behind my toilet will not turn. Should I force it?
No. Forcing a seized valve can break it and cause a worse leak. Use the main shutoff instead, and we can replace the valve with a quarter-turn style.
Is a low-flow toilet a good idea with a septic system?
Generally yes. Using less water per flush reduces the load on the septic tank and drain field. Just keep wipes and other non-flushable items out of the toilet.
