Expert Guide to Bath & Kitchen Remodeling Services: Transform Your Home
Transforming your home through strategic renovations can significantly increase property value while enhancing your daily living experience. When…

A bathroom or kitchen remodel lives or dies on what happens inside the walls and under the floor. K & K Plumbing works out of East Canton and handles the plumbing side of remodels across Stark County, Summit County and the surrounding area, from swapping a vanity to relocating an entire kitchen sink wall. Every project starts with a free estimate and consultation.
Tile, cabinets and paint get most of the attention, but the plumbing decides where things can go and how well they work for the next twenty or thirty years. On a typical remodel we plan the new layout with you, remove or cap the old fixtures, run new supply and drain lines where they are needed, set up venting, and then return at the end to install and test every fixture.
Some customers want a full gut-and-rebuild. Others only want a new shower valve, a bigger vanity and a better toilet. Both are remodels to us, and the planning is the same: figure out what the existing pipes can support, what has to change, and the order the work needs to happen in.
Plenty of people call us for a single repair and end up asking whether it makes sense to fix the whole room. There is no rule, but certain symptoms tend to point toward a remodel rather than another patch.
If two or three of these describe your space, it is usually worth having us look at the bigger picture before spending money on one-off fixes.

In a home, a remodel is usually about comfort, storage and resale value. Homeowners care about how the shower feels, whether the vanity has enough counter space and whether the kitchen works for the way the family cooks. We spend time on those details because they are what you live with every day.
Commercial remodels are driven by different pressures. A restaurant, office, church or retail building has to keep operating, so work is often phased or scheduled around business hours. Restrooms may need accessible fixture heights and clearances, and commercial kitchens bring larger drain lines, hand sinks, prep sinks and gas equipment. We serve residential and commercial customers and plan each type accordingly, including coordinating with the building owner, tenants and any other trades on site.
Our process is simple and keeps you in control of decisions and spending. First you connect with us for a free estimate. We visit, look at the existing plumbing, talk through what you want and point out anything that could affect the plan, such as an undersized drain or an old shutoff that will not hold.
Second, you approve the project specifications. That means agreeing on fixture locations, materials and scope before any wall comes down, so there are no surprises halfway through. Third, the work is done and gets a quality inspection, where we pressure test the new lines and check each fixture for leaks, drainage and proper operation.
If you have a general contractor, cabinet installer or tile setter, we schedule our rough-in and finish visits around their work. If a permit or inspection is required for the plumbing portion, we will tell you up front and coordinate it. Throughout the job our plumbers keep the work area neat and treat your home with the care of an invited guest.

A remodel is the cheapest time to upgrade the pipes nobody sees. With walls and floors open, replacing aging galvanized or cast iron lines costs far less than doing it later through finished surfaces.
For supply lines we typically use PEX or copper depending on the situation. PEX is flexible, resists freeze cracking better than rigid pipe and needs fewer fittings. Copper remains a solid choice where lines are exposed or where it ties into existing copper. Drains are usually PVC, with transitions to existing cast iron where the main stack stays in place.
Shower valves come in pressure-balancing and thermostatic styles; both protect against sudden temperature swings, while thermostatic valves allow more precise control. Toilets range from standard to comfort height, and from round to elongated bowls. Kitchen sinks can be undermount, drop-in or farmhouse style, each with different support and plumbing needs. We can help you compare faucet options that suit how you use the room.
Switching from electric to gas cooking, or moving a range to an island, means running a new gas line and confirming the existing service can handle it. We handle that as part of the remodel, along with cooktop and range hookups.
Before work begins, clear the room and the path to it, decide where you will wash dishes or shower in the meantime, and finalize fixture selections. Ordering fixtures early prevents delays when it is time for finish work. If the house only has one bathroom, tell us at the estimate so we can plan the sequence to keep a toilet working as much as possible.
After the remodel, a few habits keep new plumbing in good shape. Run the bathroom fan during and after showers, keep an eye on caulk lines each year, avoid harsh drain chemicals, and know where the new shutoff valves are. Customers on our Residential Plumbing Maintenance Agreement get an annual inspection, which is a good time to catch small issues in a newly remodeled space.

If any supply, drain or gas line is moving, being added or being replaced, yes. A licensed plumber makes sure drains slope correctly, vents are in place and connections hold under pressure. Cosmetic work like painting or swapping cabinet hardware does not need us.
Usually. The limiting factors are the location of the drain stack, joist direction under the floor and room for proper venting. We check those at the estimate and tell you what is practical before you commit to a layout.
In most older homes, it is worth it. Galvanized supply pipe corrodes from the inside and cast iron drains can crack with age. Replacing them during a remodel avoids tearing out new tile or drywall later.
It depends on scope. A fixture-for-fixture swap may take a day or two, while a full relocation involves a rough-in visit, time for other trades, and a finish visit. We give you a realistic sequence when we write the estimate.
Yes. We remodel plumbing for commercial customers as well as homes, and we plan the schedule around keeping the business open wherever possible.
