Village Water, Township Wells

Close the main valve. On public water, it is usually next to the meter in the basement. On a well, switch off the pump breaker and close the valve by the pressure tank. Open a faucet at the lowest point in the house to relieve pressure, keep clear of wet electrical equipment and move valuables up off the floor.
