Plumbing Partner for New Home Builders in Green
Green has been one of the steadier growth areas in the region, with new neighborhoods filling in between the older roads and around the airport. Much of that work is done by builders who put up several homes a year from a set of proven plans. We work as a plumbing subcontractor for builders like that, about 15 miles from our East Canton shop, and we also take on one-off custom homes.
What Builders Want From a Plumbing Sub
Builders who run several houses at once tell us the same things. They want a firm price per plan, crews who show up on the day they said, rough-ins that pass the first time, and no surprises on the final invoice. That is a reasonable list, and it is the standard we hold ourselves to.
Working from repeat plans helps everyone. Once we have plumbed a given floor plan, the takeoff, the material list and the layout are known. Changes from one house to the next, like an added basement bath or a different kitchen island, are priced as options so the builder can quote buyers quickly.
Our Visits on a Typical Green Home
A new house in a subdivision usually needs four or five trips from us, each timed to a specific point in the builder's schedule:
- Underground: basement floor drains, sump pit, rough for any future basement bath and the sewer connection, tested before the slab
- Water service: bringing the line in from the curb and setting the meter location
- Top-out or rough-in: all supply, drain, vent and gas piping once the house is framed, roofed and dried in
- Inspection support: pressure tests in place and access ready when the inspector arrives
- Trim: fixtures, water heater, gas appliance connections and a final walk-through
Being ready for us
Before rough-in, the builder should have framing complete, the roof on, windows in and the fixture selections locked. Tub and shower units that go in before framing closes off the bathroom need to be on site early.

Spec Homes and Buyer Selections
Spec homes give the builder control over fixtures. Presold homes bring buyer choices, and those choices need to be final before rough-in, because shower valve bodies, tub drains and freestanding tub locations are set in the walls and floor at that stage. Faucet finishes and toilets can still change up to trim.
We give builders a simple list of the selections we need and the date we need them by, tied to their schedule.
Gas and Water Heater Choices for New Homes
Many new homes in Green go with a high-efficiency gas furnace and either a tank or tankless water heater, plus a gas range and sometimes a fireplace. Those loads drive the gas pipe sizing and the meter the utility installs. Our gas line and water heater pages go into those decisions in more depth.

After the Neighborhood Fills In
A few years after closing, many owners start finishing basements or redoing the builder-grade kitchen and baths. Good rough-in decisions during construction make that later work easier. When the time comes, our kitchen and bath remodeling service picks up from there. Frequently Asked Questions
Can you give a set price for each of a builder's floor plans?
Yes. Once we have the plans and the standard fixture package, we price each plan and list common options separately so the builder can quote buyers without waiting on us.
How many times does the plumber come to a new house?
Usually four or five visits: underground, water service, rough-in, any inspection follow-up and trim. Each is timed to the builder's schedule.
Can buyers change plumbing fixtures after rough-in?
Faucets, toilets and finishes can usually change up to trim. Shower valves, tub drains and fixture locations are set at rough-in, so those choices need to be final first.
Do you also work on custom homes in Green?
Yes. One-off custom homes follow the same stages but usually involve more planning up front, especially around fixture selections and mechanical room layout.
Do you install the water service from the curb on new homes?
Yes. We bring the service line in from the curb stop, set up the meter location to the water provider's requirements and connect it to the house piping. Timing it while the excavator is on site saves the builder an extra trip.
