Plumbing Service on the Mahoning County Side of Alliance

Most of Alliance sits in Stark County, but the city's eastern edge crosses into Mahoning County, and plenty of homes just beyond it are on township roads toward Sebring and Beloit. K & K Plumbing works on both sides of that line from our East Canton shop. If your address says Mahoning County, this page is for you; the Stark County Alliance page covers the rest of town.

Where the County Line Falls and How We Get There

Alliance is roughly 13 miles from our shop as the crow flies, a straightforward drive east through Louisville and Washington Township. The Mahoning County portion adds a few minutes, and homes past the city toward Sebring, Beloit and Damascus add a few more. That puts eastern Alliance near the outer edge of the area we cover regularly, so we suggest a quick call to line up a time that fits our route rather than assuming we can be there on short notice.

For homeowners, the county line matters less than you might think. The work is the same, the crew is the same, and our free estimate works the same way. Where it does show up is in which offices handle permits and which water and sewer provider serves the property. We sort that out as part of the job so you are not chasing paperwork.

What We See in East-Side Alliance Homes

Alliance grew up as a railroad and manufacturing town, and the neighborhoods on its east side reflect that history: a lot of early and mid-1900s houses with full basements, many of them updated in pieces over the decades. That patchwork is where most of our calls come from.

  • Cast iron and clay drain lines that have scaled up inside, causing slow basement floor drains and recurring kitchen clogs
  • Galvanized supply pipe left in walls after a partial copper or PEX update, leading to low pressure at upstairs fixtures
  • Basements that take on water during spring thaw and heavy summer storms, which puts the sump pump to work
  • Water heaters tucked into tight utility corners with outdated venting or no expansion tank
  • Outbuildings and detached garages with old water lines that freeze in a hard January

Alliance Services We Offer

Alliance is one of the few towns outside our Canton core with its own set of service pages, so you can read about a specific job before you call. Clogs and slow lines are covered on our Alliance drain cleaning page. If a basement keeps getting wet, see sump pump installation and repair in Alliance. Homes with failing galvanized or patched lines are good candidates for whole-house repiping.

We also install and repair gas and electric water heaters, faucets, toilets, disposals and softeners, and we run gas lines for ranges, dryers and fireplaces. Properties just outside town that rely on a private well can get pump and pressure tank work as well. Commercial customers along the busier corridors get the same crew and the same free estimate process as homeowners.

If Water Is Coming Through a Ceiling or Wall

Because eastern Alliance is a longer drive for us, the first few minutes are yours. A little preparation keeps the damage contained until we arrive for emergency leak containment.

  • Find the main shutoff now, before you need it. In most older Alliance homes it is on the basement wall where the line enters from the street.
  • Turn the water off at the main, then open a faucet on the lowest floor to drain pressure off the lines.
  • If the leak is near a water heater, shut off its cold supply and turn the gas valve to pilot or flip the breaker.
  • Move belongings and rugs out of the way, and take photos for your insurance company.
  • Call 330-875-8003 and tell us your cross streets so we can plan the route.

The Maintenance Agreement Makes Sense at This Distance

For homes at the edge of our area, our Residential Plumbing Maintenance Agreement is a practical way to stay on our schedule. It costs $189 per year or $378 for three years and includes an annual inspection, priority service, emergency support, 10% off labor and materials, and no service-charge minimums. Coverage transfers if you sell the house and renews automatically.

The yearly visit is the real value in an older Alliance house. It lets us spot a weeping valve, a corroded fitting or a tired sump pump before it turns into a Saturday emergency.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you really serve the Mahoning County part of Alliance?

Yes. We work throughout Alliance on both sides of the county line, plus nearby Smith Township roads. Because it is farther from East Canton than our core towns, please call to confirm a time.

Does the county line change what a repair in east Alliance involves?

The plumbing work is identical. The difference is mainly which offices handle any required permit and who supplies the water and sewer, and we take care of that coordination.

My house near the Alliance city line is on a well. Can you help?

Yes. Many homes just past Alliance toward Beloit and Sebring use private wells. We service pumps, pressure tanks and the lines into the house. Our Alliance well service page has more detail.

What is the most common plumbing problem in older east-side Alliance homes?

Slow or backed-up drains from aging cast iron, followed closely by low water pressure from old galvanized pipe. Both are common in homes of that era.

Can I get an estimate before committing to work in Alliance?

Yes. Estimates and consultations are free. We look at the problem, explain the options and give you a written plan to approve.
